Pool Opening & Closing in New York

In New York, a bad winterization means a cracked heater, busted pipes, or a pool that's green before Memorial Day. Our opening and closing service is built for the realities of NY winters — and the rush of NY summers.

№ 01 · The Work

In plain language.

Few things matter more to a NY pool than how it gets closed and how it gets opened. Get the winterization wrong — miss a blowout, skip the antifreeze, leave water in the heater — and you're looking at thousands in repairs before you ever swim again. Get the opening wrong and you're chasing algae and cloudy water for the first three weeks of the season.

Our winterization service is a full bulletproof package: we lower the water below skimmers, blow out every line with commercial air, plug the returns, drain the pump, filter, and heater, add winter chemicals, and install your cover (mesh, solid, or safety). We document every step with photos so you know exactly what was done and what to expect in spring.

Openings are the reverse — and just as important. We pull and clean the cover, reconnect equipment, prime the system, perform an initial shock and clarifier treatment, and run the pool for the recommended turnover. Most clients are swim-ready within 7–10 days of opening; green pools take a bit longer (see our green-to-clean service).

Booking matters. We typically close out our spring opening calendar by mid-April and our fall closing calendar by mid-September. Reserve your spot early — especially if you're in high-demand areas like Scarsdale, Rye, or Larchmont.
